So I fail at this whole updating thing. Personal-life wise a lot has happened I moved out of the old apartment into a new one that I loveeee. And the new semester at FSU started 2 weeks ago, so far so good. Anyways. WoW-world wise I joined a new guild a few weeks ago. I lovedddd the old guild that I was in but since there were only so many people that were 80 the only way we’d do any raids was if we pugged it, which got old … fast. We mainly did OS and VoA and that was pretty much it. I was tired of heroics (before the latest patch) which had something to do with my boredom.

I tried recruiting people but it was just not working. Some drama llamas happened and I ended up just leaving the guild and joining another one called <Vehement> on the Drenden server (I ran with the guild master a few times before and him and I got along so why not?). Since then we have done Naxx 10 a few times as well as some areas in Ulduar 10 and of course VoA and OS. It’d been a blast and I love the people in the guild We’ve also been doing premade battlegrounds which is also a blast. It’s safe to say I am having fun in the game again and enjoying myself. Endless random conversations on vent and running heroics through the day is a lot of fun. It’s nice to fit into a guild (again) but be able to raid as well One of the people I played with the most from the old guild joined this one on her alt which is always nice, the others I still keep in contact with

I’ve been keepting up with The Guild since the show first aired on Youtube and since then I haven’t stopped

Some friends in the guild were about to run Azjol-Nerub (heroic) and needed a healer, so obviously they asked me since I am dual specced feral/resto and have done some raid heals so it’s safe to say: I know what I am doing now. Anyways, I was hesitant at first since AN is a heroic I have yet to heal but agreed to join. As soon as I joined the tank whispered me and immedtialy wanted me in my healing set. I told her it would be a minute (was in flight when they asked) so instead she asked how much mana I had. I pulled a number out of my butt and said over 15k, apparently that is not enough! She told “no thanks”, so I left the group (the friends that joined it left too :P). I whispered her and told her I have healing experience (raid and heroics)) and that I have over 16k mana apparently. According to her “I could be carried in Naxx” and other raids. When I did 10 man naxx I was poor gear compared to what I have now, I think I am more than carry myself and heal those around me quite well.

I let it go. Clearly this warrior knows a lot more about the class then I do and 16k mana = shit. Turns out she did the run with a druid healing who had well over 1k less mana then me … so wait I don’t have enough mana but they do? What? This annoyed me greatly, not only is it “that time of the month” but I hate when people assume things about a class they clearly know knothing about. I know the bosses as a dps, and have healed parts of them before AND I could even do it as a tank (if I had the gear for it). Do not assume something about a class, please.

Case #2:

Person: Can you tank ___? (some heroic I forget)

Me: No, I am dps.

Person: But you’re feral!

Me: Yes, but I am dps specced.

Person: You can’t dps as a bear!

Me: … thats why I dps as a kitty, in the feral spec.

Person: … oh

… yeah Iknow enough about each class to know AT LEAST what each spec does. OH silly people, how you amuse me. Any runs in of your own lately?

When I first got dual speccing a month or so ago , I’ve been gathering gear like a mad woman. I mostly started with stalking the auction house and also got lucky in some heroic dungeons where healing gear dropped and the healer we had didn’t need it. Now I am sitting at an IMBA of 380 (it keeps yelling at me to enchant my items, which I have been saving for so that will happen soon) for both of my specs and I love healing now!

When I first started healing I was extremely nervous the entire time and constantly had my eyes wide open O_O, but since then I have gotten some nice practice. Getting the Bloodsail title (Avast Ye, Admiral!) helped a lot with preparing me to heal for heroics, since I was in a decently numbered group for it myself and someone else was healing. Since then I’ve healed the following heroics: Nexus, Utgarde Keep, and parts of Gundrak when our healer left for a moment.

But what I love healing the most is in PVP! I did a few battlegrounds the other day, one of which was Arathi Basin where it took 2 death knights and their minions and a warlock to fear me to take me down. I also loved the shaman and paladin that tried to kill me while I ran around healing myself and the people I were with. The eventually gave up and tried to kill the people I with, and they both died. I was always a fan of pvp when I was eating face but now I get to heal it

In Looking For Group I still only listed myself as damage because my confidence in healing still isn’t that high, and I usually only volunteer if I’m in a group and we can’t find a healer (I let them know as soon as I join). But reading the cheatsheets at 4haelz has helped quite a bit withthe instances she has  listed

Word of advice to those pugging away, when you invite someone in a group make SURE you’re inviting them for what they are listed for. DPS to DPS, healer to heal, blah blah blah. I was invited into a group for Heroic Nexus (daily for Friday, it is now 1am Saturday :P), after I paid 2g just to fly to the place to summon we enter and someone ask “who’s healing?”. I assumed it was the Pally since he was dual specced for heals, but apparently it was me. Cos you know, having damage listed for what I could do = healer. So what hapepend? I was kicked from the group because the leader= dumbass. When I was invited into the group I was wearing my healing set, which is probably why they assumed (you know what they day when you do, you make an ass out of you and me … but mostly  you) I was a healer. Hmm lets think for a moment, I was listed as DPS. Not heals. See the failage? After I was kicked (who knows why, the pally wasnt the tank and he had more than good enough gear for it) I messaged the person telling them that I was listed as dps and they made a mistake and that I was wearing my healing set at the time of the invite but that I was still listed as dps. They replied with “sorry man”, yes I am sorry that you fail at reading.

Now I am stil l working on my healing set which is why I only list myself as dps, I would have been more than happy to have tested it out and see if I could do it if they wanted me to and if not the pally could heal and I could dps. Simple yes? Turns out one of the other dps left after I was kicked and they started a new group.

I started playing World of Warcraft last year. My Wife had already played some and after I signed up for a trial account, I was hooked. Now I’m a Guild Master and started working on my first alt. character after learning a lot from the first time I played, I decided to level this one super fast. I made it from Level 1 to 80 in less than a month. People on my ‘Friends List’ kept messaging me: “Wow, I can’t believe you’re 80! Can you teach me?” or “Hey, can you help me quest?” so I told them that I was going to write a ‘power leveling’ guide outlining the basics to making your character *DING* fast.

I can’t guarantee you’ll level quite as fast as me — though you might even level faster if you stick by this guide and do exactly what I say.
